Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur

It was meant to be a short flight a little over four hours, yet it was an early morning one leaving Colombo at 5.00 am which made us two sleepy birds through out the journey and on arrival. Worth mentioning about our flight - Air Asia, which is supposedly budget carrier in which we found sophisticated leather seats and a pampered service....Thumbs up Air Asia, the first impression matters most..

Immigration was smooth...a taxi ride took us to our pre-booked Concorde hotel.. Received a warm welcome and a lavish hotel room to go with the hospitality....

Tiredness aside, we were ready explore... And there we were, a couple on their honeymoon, crawling down the streets of Kuala Lumpur.
(Yes we were hungry travellers) The streets were surprisingly peaceful, well atleast compared to our hustle and bustle streets back in Dubai...

The KL towers came to our sight the moment we stepped out from our hotel...standing tall among the rest of the buildings..

Then came the view of iconic “Petrona Towers” which is undoubtedly the symbol of Malaysia. Once they were the tallest buildings in the world. (From 1998 to 2004 until surpassed by Taipei 101) But still remain the tallest twin buildings in the world.

It was amazing witnessing a landmark building which we have only watched either through a television or a computer screen..

We didn’t miss a walk through the “Suria KLCC” – the up market retail podium which features foreign luxury goods and high-street labels and the “KLCC Park” full of greenery, jogging and walking paths, a fountain with incorporated light show, wading pools, and a children's playground…
